11 Original Tunes by singer/songwriter/guitar player, Brooke Bentley Blackburn.
The Blackburn Brothers - Duane, Brooke and Cory -- are part of what's considered Toronto's first family of funk and soul. Their father, keyboardist Bobby Dean Blackburn was an influential figure in Toronto's Blues and R&B scene during the 1960s and their place in local history goes well beyond that! The Blackburns' connection to Toronto and Owen Sound can be traced back to the days of the Underground Railroad; thus, to mark the beginning of Black History Month, we invited Brooke Blackburn to talk about his family and their special relationship with music.
